How to use Mymanu Translate on Android

Need help using our translation app on your Android device? Here’s everything you need to know about using Mymanu Translate!

Install Mymanu Translate

Head over to the Play Store or click here, and install the Mymanu Translate app.

Create your Mymanu ID

Open the Translate app and tap the Cog icon on the top right corner, this will take you to the preferences page. Then select Login and Swipe left to sign up. Enter your details in the form, read and agree to the T&C’s, and click Sign up. An activation link will be sent to the email you have provided, you will need to open the email and select Activate account before you can log in with your Mymanu ID – don’t forget to check your spam folder.

Log in and select your Region

Open the app and tap the Cog Icon on the top right corner, then select Login. Enter your Mymanu ID details and click Login. Next, you will be asked to select the Region you are in by scrolling through the regions shown on-screen – this allows for a more accurate translation service and can be easily changed by clicking the Cog Icon and selecting Region.

Register a device

If you have a Mymanu device, we highly recommend you register it on the Translate app and you will receive a free 12-month subscription to the premium service. To do this, tap Register a device, select your device from the dropdown menu, enter your serial number (you can find this on the side of the product box), and click Register device. You can also purchase or renew a subscription on this page by clicking the Choose button.

Select your language

To select your language simply tap the Cog icon > languages and select your language from the list. Once your language has been set the group chat feature will now seamlessly translate conversations into your chosen language.

Using Group Translate with CLIK + device

Select Group Translation and choose to start a conversation or join a conversation. To start a conversation, select Start a conversation and Connect your CLIK + device and press Connect. To invite friends to your new conversation, key in their names in the search bar and click invite; once you have invited your friends, tap Next step. You will then be able to name your group, add a group profile image, and choose to keep your group public or private. Once this is done, tap Create group. To join an already made group you will need to scan a member’s QR code. Click Join a conversation and scan the QR code from your potential group member – these can be scanned directly from your phone or can be sent via email/message by tapping the share button. Alternatively, you can join via an invite link. Now you can start chatting to your group members by either texting your message or pressing the tap and hold to talk button and speaking.

Using Group Translate without CLIK + device

Select Group Translation and choose to start a conversation or join a conversation. To start a conversation, select Start a conversation and tap Continue to Translate. To invite friends to your new conversation key in their names in the search bar and click invite; once you have invited your friends, tap Next step. You will then be able to name your group, add a group profile image, and choose to keep your group public or private. Once this is done, tap Create group. To join an already made group you will need to scan a member’s QR code. Click Join a conversation and scan the QR code from your potential group member – these can be scanned directly from your phone or can be sent via email/message by tapping the share button. Alternatively, you can join via an invite link. Now you can start chatting to your group members by either texting your message or pressing the tap and hold to talk button and speaking.

Using Solo Translate with CLIK + device

Connect your earbuds to your phone via Bluetooth (click here if you need help with this) and then open the Translate app. Select Solo mode and select the languages you and your party wish to speak in. Tap and hold your left earbud and speak after you hear the beep, once you’ve finished your sentence release your finger. If the other party has CLIK, the translation will go straight to their earbuds, otherwise they will hear the translation through your phone’s speaker and be able to read the transcript on your phone’s screen. The other party can also reply by either pressing and holding their flag on your smartphone screen and speaking into the phone’s mic or pressing and holding their left earbud (if applicable) and speaking.

Using Solo Translate without CLIK + device

Open Mymanu Translate and select Solo mode. Select your language and the language your party will be speaking. To then start a conversation, tap and hold on your flag and start speaking. Once you have finished your sentence, release your finger and the app will then translate your speech into the other selected language through your phone’s speaker and on your phone’s screen as a transcript. The party can reply by pressing and holding their flag on your smartphone and speaking into your phone’s mic.
